Koala vs Cactus

11 08 2008

Who will win?

Apparently the cactus.

A super-cactus emerging in the Queensland Outback has been branded a koala-killer. As if chlamydia and other diseases weren’t enough

The Hudson Pear Cactus, Cylindropuntia rosea, originates from Mexico and Arizona but has been invading the Australian scrub since the 1960s.

Not just lethal to koalas, the cactus has allegedly “killed” an elderly man who suffered a heart attack after falling in a cactus bush.
